This remote, asynchronous course is intended to provide learners with an introductory understanding of the lobes of the brain. We used a combination of behavioral and constructivism learning theories, as well as direct instruction learning design to develop this interactive learning resource. The technology is set up to allow learners to navigate throughout the learning modules at their own pace. Learners may decide to dive further into the content by exploring our supplemental resources, engaging in the formative assessments that are strategically placed between passages, or even by going beyond the learning environment through following our suggested activities. Once learners feel confident in their acquired knowledge, they are then asked to demonstrate their understanding through participating in a case study that will test their ability to link together what they’ve learnt to a real life scenario. The overall objective is for learners to walk away with an enhanced understanding and appreciation for the lobes of the brain!
